My design philosophy has evolved over decades, shaped by the understanding that the most beautiful, enduring landscapes begin with what already belongs—the regional plant communities 'of the place'.

What began, for me professionally, as a pursuit of ornamental design has grown into a commitment to horticultural integrity and ecological restoration. The plants that naturally occur in our landscapes have become my truest teachers, bringing history, wisdom, and resilience to every project.

I’m drawn to creating spaces that feel alive with texture, color and movement, where art and ecology meet in natural harmony. Each planting develops through careful observation, a deep study of place, and responses guided by the site’s own rhythms. In this way, design becomes less about control and more about collaboration—listening to the land, understanding its cues, and shaping spaces that restore balance, support native wildlife, and invite meaningful connection.
